Beginning with our well-designed S16mm/2K high speed lens series
featuring focal lengths from 8mm to 50mm in ultra-high T1.3 apertures,
continuing with our unique titanium construction heavy duty camera
tripods and now introducing the exciting ILLUMINA S35 high speed lenses
for 35mm film and 4K digital, our team has delivered advanced technology
to a production market eager for the highest quality at reasonable cost.
In collaboration with LOMO PLC of St. Petersburg, Russian Federation, a
fresh take on the traditional high speed cine lens has been created.
LOMO, founded in 1914 and existing for many years under the name GOMZ,
until designation in 1962 as Leningrad Optical & Mechanical Corporation
(LOMO), has for over 80 years been the top-quality source for military,
medical, cinematographic and photo optics in Russia. Whole new fields of
optical research have been originated at LOMO.
The company exports a panoply of products to nearly every country in the
developed and developing world. These include flexible medical
endoscopes, microscopes, night vision devices, laser optics and a unique
line of aeronautic meteorological recording and forecasting instruments.
The design concept with which we challenged the storied LOMO optical
works was to create not only the high resolution and contrast, but also
the forgiving "creaminess" of the best standard-speed cinema lenses now
in use, but in an ultra-high aperture of f1.2 / T1.3. These totally new
optical and mechanical designs comprise the IIlumina S35 series: 18mm,
25mm, 35mm, 50mm & 85mm.
Completion of this new series means that Luma Tech, Inc. is one of only
two companies world-wide capable of offering the digital cinematographer
of today a complete, integrated line of ultra-hiqh speed objectives in
both S16/2K and S35/4k formats, stretching from 8mm to 85mm T1.3. A one
year parts and labor warranty applies to all products, with service
undertaken by expert technicians at our well stocked facilities in
Florida and on the west coast through Serious Gear Co.
European and Asian service facilities will be announced in the near
future.
